Ingredients:

  • 1 lb green cabbage, thinly shredded
  • 3 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 tsp kosher salt
  • 1/4 tsp cracked black pepper

Instructions:

  1. Heat the olive oil and butter in a 12-inch cast iron skillet or large stainless steel sauté pan over medium-high heat until the butter stops foaming and smells nutty.
  2. Add the minced garlic to the butter and stir constantly for 30–60 seconds until fragrant and golden, ensuring it does not burn.
  3. Toss in the shredded cabbage and stir vigorously to coat. Sauté for 5–7 minutes until the cabbage wilts slightly and develops golden-brown charred edges.
  4. Stir in the salt and pepper. Remove from heat immediately while cabbage remains tender-crisp.
