Ingredients:
- 1 cup (225g) unsalted butter, softened to room temperature
- 3 ½ cups (420g) powdered sugar, sifted
- 2 tsp (10ml) pure vanilla extract
- 2 tbsp (30ml) heavy cream
- ¼ tsp (1.5g) fine table salt
Instructions:
- Beat the softened butter on medium-high speed for 2–3 minutes until the butter turns a pale ivory color and feels whipped.
- Turn the mixer to low and gradually add the sifted powdered sugar one cup at a time. Once incorporated, increase the speed to medium for 1 minute.
- Add the vanilla extract, salt, and heavy cream. Beat on high for an additional 2 minutes until the frosting holds a peak when the beater is lifted.
