Ingredients:

  • 1.5 lbs center-cut salmon fillet
  • 1 tsp kosher salt
  • 0.5 tsp freshly cracked black pepper
  • 3 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 tbsp fresh lemon juice
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp fresh dill or thyme, finely chopped
  • 6 thin lemon slices

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Lay a large piece of heavy-duty aluminum foil on a rimmed baking sheet and brush the center with oil.
  2. Place the salmon fillet in the center of the foil. In a small mixing bowl, whisk together the melted butter, lemon juice, minced garlic, and chopped herbs.
  3. Pour the lemon herb glaze over the salmon, ensuring the top and sides are well coated. Season evenly with kosher salt and black pepper.
  4. Layer the lemon slices across the top of the salmon fillet.
  5. Bring the long sides of the foil together over the fish and fold down several times to create a seal. Fold the ends inward to create an airtight packet, leaving a small amount of space inside for steam circulation.
  6. Bake for 15 minutes, or until the salmon is opaque and reaches an internal temperature of 145°F (63°C).
