Ingredients:
- 4 Salmon fillets (approx. 1.5 lbs)
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1/4 cup pure maple syrup
- 2 tbsp Dijon mustard
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tbsp fresh lemon juice
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
Instructions:
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a large rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper. Note: High heat is what creates the mahogany color
- Pat the salmon fillets completely dry with paper towels. Until the surface feels tacky, not slippery. Note: This ensures the glaze adheres
- In a small mixing bowl, whisk together the maple syrup, Dijon mustard, olive oil, lemon juice, and minced garlic. Whisk until smooth and glossy.
- Season the salmon fillets lightly with salt and black pepper. Note: Don't over salt, as Dijon already contains sodium
- Place fillets on the prepared baking sheet.
- Generously brush the glaze over the top and sides of each fillet. Note: Use a brush or a spoon to get an even layer
- Bake for 12-15 minutes. Until the glaze is bubbling and mahogany colored.
- Check for doneness. Until the fish flakes easily with a fork.
