Ingredients:

  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 3 tbsp low-sodium soy sauce
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp fresh ginger, grated
  • 1 tsp toasted sesame oil
  • 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes
  • 1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 12 oz smoked turkey sausage, sliced into 1/4-inch coins
  • 4 cups broccoli florets
  • 1 tbsp avocado oil
  • 2 tbsp water

Instructions:

  1. In a small bowl, combine the honey, soy sauce, garlic, ginger, sesame oil, and red pepper flakes. Whisk until the honey is fully integrated and set aside.
  2. Heat the avocado oil in a 12-inch cast iron skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add the sausage coins in a single layer and cook without stirring for 2-3 minutes until edges are mahogany-colored and crisp.
  3. Add the shrimp to the pan and cook for 1-2 minutes per side until they turn pink. Remove both the sausage and shrimp from the pan and set aside on a plate.
  4. In the same pan, toss in the broccoli florets. Pour in the water and immediately cover with a lid for 2 minutes to steam until tender-crisp.
  5. Remove the lid and return the sausage and shrimp to the pan. Pour the honey garlic sauce over the mixture and stir constantly for 2-3 minutes over medium heat until the sauce reduces into a velvety glaze.
