Ingredients:
- 2 cups (240g) all-purpose flour
- 1 tbsp (12g) baking powder
- 2 tbsp (25g) granulated sugar
- ½ tsp (3g) salt
- 2 large eggs (100g)
- 1 ¾ cups (415ml) whole milk
- ½ cup (115g) unsalted butter, melted and slightly cooled
- 1 tsp (5ml) pure vanilla extract
Instructions:
- Turn on your waffle maker to the medium-high setting to preheat.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt until no clumps remain.
- In a medium bowl, whisk the eggs vigorously until frothy.
- Stir the milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract into the beaten eggs until well combined.
- Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients. Use a spatula or whisk to stir until just combined; stop immediately when flour streaks disappear, leaving a few small lumps for fluffiness.
- Lightly brush the waffle iron plates with melted butter or non-stick spray.
- Pour about ½ cup (120ml) of batter into the center of the iron.
- Close the lid and cook until steam stops billowing from the sides of the iron.
- Open the lid to ensure the waffle is deep mahogany gold, then carefully remove with a fork.
