Ingredients:

  • 2 oz vodka
  • 1 oz grenadine
  • 0.5 oz fresh lime juice
  • 5 oz Sprite
  • 3 maraschino cherries
  • 1 lime wheel
  • 1 cup ice

Instructions:

  1. Chill 1 highball glass. Note: A cold glass prevents the ice from melting the second it hits the surface.
  2. Fill 1 highball glass with 1 cup ice until the cubes reach the brim.
  3. Pour 2 oz vodka over the ice. Note: Pouring the spirit first helps it chill instantly.
  4. Add 0.5 oz fresh lime juice. Note: This ensures the acid is integrated before the sugar goes in.
  5. Measure 1 oz grenadine and pour it directly into the center. Watch as the red syrup sinks to the bottom.
  6. Top the glass with 5 oz Sprite. Note: Pour slowly to keep the carbonation active.
  7. Stir very gently once or twice with a bar spoon. Until the color just starts to swirl but doesn't fully homogenize.
  8. Drop 3 maraschino cherries into the glass.
  9. Slide 1 lime wheel between the ice and the glass wall.
  10. Serve immediately while the bubbles are still snapping and popping.
