Ingredients:
- 1 lb ground chicken (92-94% lean)
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp maple syrup
- 1 tsp dried sage
- 1/2 tsp dried thyme
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1/4 tsp smoked paprika
- 1/8 tsp ground nutmeg
Instructions:
- In a medium mixing bowl, combine the ground chicken with the maple syrup, dried sage, dried thyme, garlic powder, salt, black pepper, smoked paprika, and ground nutmeg. Mix until the spices are evenly distributed, being careful not to overwork the meat.
- Divide the mixture into 10 equal portions (approximately 1.8 oz each). Gently press between palms to form patties about 1/2 inch thick.
- Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat until the oil shimmers.
- Add the patties to the skillet and cook for 4-5 minutes per side until they develop a mahogany-colored crust and reach an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).
