Ingredients:
- 1 can (14 oz / 397 g) sweetened condensed milk
- 1/2 cup (115 g) salted butter, cubed
- 1/2 cup (100 g) light brown sugar, packed
- 1 tsp (5 ml) vanilla extract
- 1/2 tsp (3 g) sea salt
Instructions:
- Place the cubed butter and light brown sugar in your saucepan over medium-low heat. Stir constantly until the butter is fully melted and the sugar has dissolved into a uniform, bubbling liquid.
- Pour in the sweetened condensed milk. Increase the heat slightly to medium, whisking continuously. Continue to simmer for 5–8 minutes; the sauce is ready when it transforms from a pale cream to a deep, glossy mahogany color.
- Remove the pan from the heat immediately. Stir in the vanilla extract and sea salt. Let the sauce cool for 5 minutes to allow it to thicken further before serving.
