Ingredients:

  • 64 oz fresh unfiltered apple cider
  • 64 oz clear apple juice
  • 1 cup granulated white sugar
  • 1 cup light brown sugar, packed
  • 6 whole cinnamon sticks
  • 1 tsp apple pie spice
  • 750 ml high proof grain alcohol (151 proof)

Instructions:

  1. Combine the liquids. Pour the 64 oz of apple cider and 64 oz of apple juice into your large stockpot.
  2. Add the sugars. Stir in the 1 cup of white sugar and 1 cup of packed brown sugar.
  3. Spiced the base. Drop in the 6 whole cinnamon sticks and 1 tsp of apple pie spice.
  4. Heat the mixture. Bring the pot to a boil over medium high heat.
  5. Simmer for depth. Reduce the heat to low and let it simmer for 45 minutes.
  6. Cool completely. Remove the pot from the heat and let it sit until the liquid reaches room temperature. This usually takes about 2 hours.
  7. Fortify the batch. Pour in the 750 ml of high proof grain alcohol.
  8. Bottle the spirit. Use a funnel to pour the moonshine into clean mason jars.
  9. Include the sticks. Place one of the boiled cinnamon sticks into each jar.
  10. Seal and store. Tighten the lids and place the jars in a cool, dark place.
